I love Halloween decor, but I don’t really decorate for it in my home. I did want to this year, so I came up with a fun Halloween centerpiece tablescape idea using items I had on hand plus some dollar store decor.
Thanks a bunch to Tammy from Pink Peppermint Design for hosting this Halloween decor tour and helping kick my butt into gear, and if you’ve landed here from House by Hoff, welcome!
The main focal point of my centerpiece is a black candelabra that I zhushed up a bit using a spider web bowl and a faux spider web from the dollar store.
To get the bowl onto the candleabra, I used some black electrical tape. This made for a sturdy but temporary/removable top.
Once the bowl was secured, this is what it looks like. I also added some faux crystal gems hanging from the candelabra with some thin fishing wire.
Next step was to add in a generous amount of spider web into the bowl and then pull it down and around the candelabra arms.
This is going to act as floral foam for the next step.
And finally, add in some floral stems into the bowl for a chic, sophisticated and spooky centerpiece.
After that, I added in my gold chargers, matte black dinner plates
, black cloth napkins and gold napkin rings set a top a floral tablecloth layered over a black tablecloth
.
I also scattered some votives, candlesticks, pumpkins and some bubbly to glam it up even more.
I love how candlelight makes this whole Halloween tablescape a little more moody.
Most of these items are not overtly Halloween, but when paired together with a few Halloween decor accessories totally work together.
I’m a huge fan of using what you have and not always rushing out to buy so much “stuff”.
I wish we would have a Halloween dinner or something- I’ve always wanted to host a murder mystery party or something along those lines. I always wonder if our friends would think that was dumb.
But, I still think it could be a lot of fun with the right theme and crowd.
This whole set-up is definitely a bit untraditional and an eclectic take on Halloween decor, but I love that it really didn’t take much time or money to put this together.

Hi, CC! Yes, that box has all my random plastic gems, rhinestones, sequins and glitter. It helps keep my stuff organized and handy for projects like this one. Hope that helps!
