Even though I am on bedrest, more on that later, I am THRILLED to announce my 2017 Christmas Decor Theme… Blush (AKA: Millennial Pink? Rose Gold?) and Chinoiserie.
The past few years I’ve done black, white and gold, but this year I wanted to change it up a bit and be a bit more bold and eclectic. So this is it!
Using all the white, gold, and silver ornaments I have and throwing in blush/pink ornaments is the plan. I’ll add in punches of black via velvet textures/ribbons and accenting this all with chinoiserie elements like blue and white dinnerware, ginger jars and foo dogs.
I found these beautiful Kate Spade faux bois napkins at HomeGoods, and I think they look so beautiful paired with the blue and white chinoiserie dinner plate I found (also at HomeGoods…I basically live there).
These plates, y’all. I bought four, and if they would have had more in this same shade of blue, I would have bought more. They’re gorgeous! It is hard to find affordable chinoiserie dinnerware, and these plates were $5 each.
If you find these in your local HomeGoods/TJ Maxx…BUY THEM
and mail them to me. They also had the matching bowls, but the plates are where it’s at.
This black floral tablecloth featured a lot of the colors I’m using, and it’s bold and dramatic, so this is the foundation for my IKEA dining table. I think it’s going to look phenomenal once I get everything set-up like I have in my head.
The ornaments, as mentioned earlier, will be shades of gold, silver, white and blush/rose gold. I’ve opted to put our new 9′ tree in the living room corner and our 7′ potted tree in the dining room, so I need to have lots of ornaments on hand, so I bought 95% of my blush ornaments at At Home. They had the best price even with sales at their competitors.
I also found the blush mercury glass-esque beauties below at HomeGoods, and dear lord, please no one break them…
The florals I’m using are mostly from Michael’s, and their sales have been amazing lately! These big, blush poinsettias were about $5 a bunch (comes with 4-6 flowers in a bunch), and they are HUGE. I’m using these in my tree to add drama.
And finally I couldn’t resist these dual-color sequined beauties from the Target Dollar Spot (these were $3 each) for our makeshift “mantle”. You’ll have to wait and see what I mean. That velvet ribbon is also instrumental to a holiday DIY I’ll be sharing with you later this week.
I know it’s a lot going on, and you’re probably doubting my choices, but I am confident that all these items put together with some decor I have on hand is going to make for a unique, eclectic, glam holiday home.
Ok, so about being on bedrest…MY KNEES, AGAIN. Argh. I ended up at the emergency room this weekend, and I’ve been stuck in bed for three days now. Sounds like a dream, but really I have so much I want to do, so it’s rather heartbreaking. The first day I watched Gilmore Girls and had fun, but now I feel sad and mopey. I know the doctor is doing this for my own good, but I wish I wasn’t in such pain. Anyway, say a little prayer for me or send some good juju my way.
So tell me something good…what’s your theme or colors this year for your holiday home?
