We’ve been in the house for almost a month, and it’s finally starting to feel like “home”. We love our home. This past weekend I finally got around to trying to get my home office in some sort of order to be more productive and stop working on the couch or kitchen island. Pee Wee is loving the house, too.
The walls are currently alabaster, a creamy/warm white, and I have my white desk from Big Lots, a rug from Rugs USA, gold vittsjo’s, and a gilt bamboo console table in here (that I stole from the living room…). Here is my office in its current messy state. Don’t judge me!
I tend to lean black and white as a foundation on most of my design boards, but in here I want to go kind of opposite with blush, grays/taupes mixed with antelope, fawn, and zebra prints in an overall muted but glam vibe.
Like this:
Now, this is purely inspiration because nearly everything on my inspiration board is $$$. And honestly, I’m simply trying to spend less money on “stuff”. I really want to travel, pay off my vehicle so we can get a new one for D (he’s driving a 10 year old tiny car), and generally just not have a lot of junk.
The rug and light fixture I already have, obviously. The rug looks beige online, but I bought the gray one. It’s a beige/gray, I’d say.
And I love this darn light fixture SO MUCH. It was a total bargain.
BUT… what I would love to buy soon are some blush velvet drapes. I have gray ones up right now, and I’d just layer these in right next to those panels for a two-tone look.
That wallpaper has been on my wishlist FOREVER, and I think if I just put it on half the wall or on one wall that it wouldn’t be terribly expensive. I know D will have a heart attack if I enlist his help to do wainscoting, so let’s hope he doesn’t read this post, k? (I love you so much, honey!)
I also would love to find a comfy desk chair with wheels because my ghost chair is hard to move around on carpet.
Overall, I just want a relaxing space that’s all mine so I can work on my blog, my design business (more on that soon), and some DIY crafts for the upcoming holidays. I’ll also need to find Pee Wee a comfy and wider bench so he can hop up and bark at squirrels and the neighbors. My little senior dog is the best. Adopt don’t shop!
I’ll likely work on this room over the next few months since the holidays are coming up and I’ll shift my focus on the living spaces and getting the guest room ready for visitors, but I still wanted to share my vision.
Tomorrow I’m sharing with you a tasty street taco recipe that’s only 11 Weight Watchers Smart Points for 3 tacos or roughly about 425 calories. You won’t want to miss it.
Do you have any suggestions for my office space?
I’d love to hear them in the comments section!

Thank you! I think shopping at HomeGoods I can hopefully snag a comfy chair at a good price. 🙂
