If you all can’t tell, I’m on a black, white and gold KICK. It is my fave color palette, and it’s so timeless to me. I’ve always been a fan of black and white. Now that we have our new dining table (review coming soon!) I really wanted to move my computer and blog stuff out of the dining room and into the 2nd spare bedroom. The bedroom has a ton of natural light, it’s small, and it’ll be perfect once I get done with it.
I put together a bit of an inspiration board to help me stay focused on my goal—a beautiful, productive, stunning space that fosters creativity and joy. As usual, lots of the things I like are IKEA hacks, but I’ll be near one in a few weeks, so I guess it all works out. YAY.

I’ve already done a few DIY office projects to get a jump start. The first DIY project was using this AMAZING Krylon Gold Leafing Pen. It is magical, I use it on everything, and I simply cannot get enough.
I also took an old $75 Office Depot desk and did a gold faux bois treatment on it much like Jenny did for her laundry room table. That’s another DIY tutorial I need to write out…anyone else ever DO a lot of things and then not write about them? I really need to get a day planner and get organized.
Here are my other ideas for my blogging office:
- A gallery wall with a mix of white and gold frames filled with photos of those I love and foil typography prints
- A place to stage photos of my DIY projects/crafts
- A gift wrapping station (because I am practical, ya know)
- Plenty of lighting
- Gorgeous window treatments (like these, maybe)
- Organized & efficient storage (the IKEA Vittsjo shelves in that collage are calling my name—soooo beautiful!)
- Luxe finishes of gold and acrylic
Confession time: most of you can tell I am totally frugal (or cheap, your call), but I’ve been lusting over these acrylic office pieces by Kate Spade since I first laid eyes on them in July.

The set would cost me well over $150, so that is simply not going to happen. Lucky for all of us frugal folk, there is a cheaper option that with a little DIY elbow grease could look great, too.
So far I have the accent wall painted, a few desk accessories, and the desk completed. I also have the chandelier installed. I have a lot of work ahead of me, so stay tuned for my progress.

Definitely my favorites too, black/white/gold, I don't think it gets any better. Love that polka dot wall. Can't wait to see the desk. Sounds fabulous.

Thanks, Marty! I think I'll finally work on that desk tutorial now that I have some more free time. :)
